What’s a Church without a place to pray?
A great first move in building your domestic church is establishing a place in the home designated for prayer.
How do I set one up?
- Choose a place. Find a corner, a room, a table, etc. that you can set aside as a little sacred space in your home. It is important that you set it aside, limiting activity in this little space to prayer.
- Choose some images. Print some off, find some on your favorite Catholic website or bookstore, take some off the wall from other places in your home. Especially helpful are a crucifix, an image of Christ, and an image of Mary. Ask your kids to draw something! Use images that help you pray!
- If possible, use a candle or special lamp. This is helpful to set aside the moments of prayer. When you gather to pray, light the candle.
